The Idea Behind TBW
Nick Magolan is the founder and owner of Trailblazer Woodworks, a custom cabinet company dedicated to exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. With nearly 10 years of experience in the construction industry, Nick has worked on a variety of projects ranging from high-end custom homes to multimillion-dollar commercial properties such as hospitals and casinos.
Nick’s passion for design and building led him to pursue a degree in Architecture and Construction Management at Ferris State University. Throughout his career, Nick has occupied a variety of roles including Project Manager Assistant, Estimator, Superintendent, and Trim Carpenter, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the construction process. He brings this diverse set of skills to Trailblazer Woodworks, where he oversees every project from start to finish, ensuring that each piece of custom cabinetry meets his high standards for quality and craftsmanship.
Nick is a always looking for new and creative concepts that can be integrated into his clients homes and doesn’t stop at just cabinets. This unique approach allows him to bring together all pieces of your project from custom doors to wall and ceiling accents that all tie in seamlessly with one another.

Meet the Owner
Trailblazer Woodworks started off as side business in a modest 570 square foot shop roughly five years ago. As passionate woodworkers, we started with just the basics and a love for creating beautiful, custom woodwork for our clients. Over the years, we've acquired more tools, honed our skills, and expanded our workshop to become a custom cabinet and CNC business.
In 2022, our family moved to Rockford, MI to be closer to our jobs. Shortly after the relocation, we welcomed a beautiful little girl into our world. At that time we decided to make the leap and make Trailblazer Woodworks a full time business.
At Trailblazer Woodworks, we believe in the importance of building relationships with local suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. We put a high value on supporting other local businesses in our community. This not only benefits our company but also supports the growth and success of our community as a whole.
